Too much excitement to FINALLY be sharing one of our favorite weddings ever!!! Lisa + Sam are a couple with so much talent and heart into everything they do. They shoot the most insane photos on Instagram (you need to go and check them out! @lisadieder) and have the most epic style too sooo, as you can imagine: all of this was effortlessly translated into their wedding! It was a modern + cozy two-days dreamy celebration with big smiles everywhere, delicious mexican food, margaritas and spectacular sunsets. Hotel San Cristobal was the canvas for this stunning destination wedding in Mexico, and it couldn’t have been more perfect!

They told us it felt kind of funny to actually be the bride + groom and not be shooting, but as photographers, we understood how much they wanted to preserve every single second: all the laughs, the hugs, the light, the people — there they were, all the way from Nashville, from Australia, from all over, in the same place at the same time celebrating together. Lisa + Sam laughed, hugged and danced like there was no tomorrow (and we also shot like there was no tomorrow!). Our favorite moments were when they would just stop, hold each other up and breathe in that very present second framing real memories on their minds. It was so powerful to see them enjoy their day and completely trusting the way we would add up memories to this beautiful journey.

So much love with these two and such a dream that we got to be part of it!

Would love to know the behind the scenes of the planning + décor? This wedding got featured on Martha Stewart Weddings, so click in here and get all the details!

Love letter coming in — don’t say we didn’t advise you. We LOVE these two, and there’s no way this weekend would’ve turned out more perfectly. An we meant it, ‘cause since the day we almost won an Oscar from playing it off as tourists on the beach for the secret mission/proposal back in Cabo, México, we felt right in our bones that this couple was PURE PERFECTION. Oh yesss, it was love at first sight. The thing about Morganne+Jarad, is that the way they play, the way they look and just are around each other is magical. Trust us on this one. We do this for a living, we’ve met tons of couples. They’re just so in love. We always say a great match is not all about the looks or same interests people. There’s a pretty good chance in there of course, but we feel that an epic match is more like whole-hearted people finding each other.

We drove all the way up to Morgan Hill, and witnessed a romantic weekend full of nature and wine in Sycamore Creek Vineyards. We spent the sunset session walking through golden vineyards, dancing next to the mountains, and it was all such a dream! So here’s to a lifetime of dad jokes and wine — cheers!

A few days before The Barbes Wedding, we met with our brilliant friends from Floweriize in Mexico City and talked over brunch how awesome this wedding would be. As vendors, a talented bride that works in the industry too means A. LOTTA. FUN. A few days later, we were meeting once again in what it seemed to be a secret garden in San Miguel de Allende, and the excitement was real. The old looking walls and the big tent where dozens of stars were hanging, decorated Casa de Sierra Nevada. It was Día de los Muertos weekend, and the whole town dressed up as colorful Catrinas. The main Plaza was filled with flowers, life, mariachi, food, and this wedding was no exception to bringing in the culture! With some of their family coming in from France, it was magical to see everyone enjoying the festivities. The energy all around was vibrant, but so were Lauren+Julien. These two are one of the most wonderful couples we’ve ever met — time kinda speeds up on a wedding day, but they made sure to suspend the love and keep present through every single moment. Viva Los Barbes!

It was around 2pm, and we were lucky enough to get a table at the Grand Central Market in DTLA. The four of them arrived, and just as Glisten advised, it was “full family flavor”! We felt the instant connection as soon as they described their relationship as a strong one. They met during tough times, but like them, we also believe that’s exactly what makes you grow and go deep into true love. Love has NO RULES. Love is imperfect. Love is constantly changing. We change, and it is so important to celebrate that too!

So all we knew at this point was, that this would be an Anti-Wedding at The Lautner Compound — boom. We were SOLD. Our INSANELY talented friend Layne from Penny Layne Maison Creative, took charge for this one. It was so far from traditional and taken to the next level, emotional, stylish, bold, fun; everything our creative souls could’ve ever hoped for. Glisten+Jason’s love for art was perfectly present in every frame: the ethereal decor, this gorgeous venue in Palm Springs, an intimate walk through the desert, signature cocktails and colorful attires. Their personalities shined through, and the party was on fire.

First impressions are supossed to be everything (right?), so from minute one we met in person we were already laughing and just making stupid jokes (that was back in San Diego on their engagement session). That first impression vibe plus the fact that they were willing to piggyback on the beach (in the most coolest, goofiest, uncheesy way, just for the sake of — no idea), was proof enough that the wedding would be something else. AND IT WAS. We loved the whole gang, we loved the details, and love them. They are such an adorable couple, and to witness Madison coming down the aisle and Jeff waiting for his bride in tears, and their actual non-official first dance as husband and wife under a disco ball (a disco ball people!!), to witness all the fun and joy, makes us insanely happy not only to have met them, but to have captured sooo many amazing memories. When we got Madison+Jeff’s inquiry for this weekend in San José del Cabo, in the description they wrote: “It’s going to be THE BEST DAY EVER!”. AND IT WAS.

Encuentro Guadalupe is one of the most mind-blowing boutique hotels, let alone in Baja, but in the world. Surrounded by an insane scenery, beautiful mountains and vineyards, this modern complex meets open space and becomes one with the hill. Sick, right? So if you think there was nothing that could top this, think twice, ‘cause this couple knew how to wisely use this space for their wedding and TOTALLY KILLED IT. Hands down to this couple and their gang for one of the best weddings ever — from the moment we saw the groomsmen put their Nike’s Air Max on, we knew it was trouble. Dee+Chris played it cool effortlessly, and there’s nothing better than watching people just being themselves. This was a super chill and super intimate wedding, that got us all swooning over that perfect mix of emotions. Best part is, we don’t even need to imagine how cute a baby from them would be, ‘cause it’s already confirmed! They make cute babies and oh wow, she is the CUTEST little girl ever that stole everyone’s hearts away! Cheers to the Bissons!

So here’s a fact from all creative souls that have visited Tulum: IT IS A MAGICAL PLACE. That’s it. Jungly, moody, sexy, romantic, inspiring. We’re in. Once you go, you want to go back and this very same magic, caught Celina+Shore in. These two’s love lit us up. Not only Celina looked STUNNING on her wedding dress, but brought tears of joy and excitement to her groom when he saw her for the first time. Shore couldn’t stop saying how beautiful she looked, she couldn’t stop smiling, and you could see in both’s eyes they were just in the time and place they were meant to be. Moments like this, make us believe. Moments like this, make us feel grateful. Sandy feets, spirits wild, nature feels — this was a weekend that will stay forever in our hearts, along with our wishes for an incredible life together for this beautiful, kind, and caring couple.

We’re suckers for minimalistic weddings, but let’s admit it — sometimes we just need a touch of boldness. Grace+Jason went for this kind of combo on their wedding day in Valentine DTLA: modern, cool vibes, and that red and pink palette that made quite a memorable statement. It just made our creative souls dance of joy! You CAN connect with your loved ones through a very authentic and personal way: reflecting who you are as a couple into every single detail. A wedding SHOULD be an invitation into your world! In words of Grace: “It’s your time to celebrate everything that is fun and unique about your love! Don’t focus on what you think others might want”. Inspired by their favorite film “In the Mood for Love” and its saturated colors, they sure knew how to bring their personality and the party on! This beautiful couple is such a perfect match, and we celebrated BIG TIME shooting it all.

San Francisco City Hall Engagement | Sutro Baths Engagement Session

San Francisco City Hall Engagement Session.jpg

We might have changed the plan a few times, but SF City Hall was totally worth it. It was our first time shooting there, also the first time meeting Patricia+Yige before their wedding in LA, so as you can imagine we were pretty excited! As soon as we got in, we were swooning over that magical ceiling and the beautiful light that came in all around those big windows. Coming down and up the elevator a few times to get the right floor, every hall was like a dose of perfection. And that was only the first stop. We drove to the Land’s End cliffs, and our second stop was those wonderful crumbling walls framed by the ocean. We had the most epic golden sunset in Sutro Baths, hiked all the way down, and shared an unforgettable day with this gorgeous couple.

Esperanza Resort Wedding Cabo Baja Mexico

Oh boy, this wedding was REAL FUN. First day of shooting: a boat trip. Definitely not your typical ride around the famous arch in Cabo. This was an epic boat party with lots of dancing, cool jumps in the water, mezcal and popsicles. Cannot think of a more perfect way to warm up for a wedding celebration! Next day — pretty stoked to capture it all! Esperanza Resort has such insane views and a mediterranean style, that we knew would add up to the modern yet romantic concept that Olya + Jason had envisioned. These two exchanged vows, with the most beautiful backdrop by the ocean. The sunset was perfect, the lighting was perfect. We had a fun little tour right after the ceremony, and we were just happy kids. Light strings, candles, tequila, fireworks…
IT WAS ALL A DREAM.
